Question on a bottle of Robert Mondavi Coastal Merlot, any wine experts?
How long can you cellar the question mentioned wine? Joseph A: Thank you for the time. owlcroft: I appreciate the link and I love my CA wines! Helen: I appreciate the perspective. Peter R: I liked your sense of urgency on this. You'll all see at the conclusion where my good intentions have placed me on a wrong road! LOL!

- I would buy it and drink it asap you would need controlled temps etc if you have a good wine store ask the clerk? I hear Merlot from Chili is getting rave reviews lately
- If you're buying the merlot as soon as it's released and have an appropriate place to store it, it might be at its peak in 3-4 years. That's based on experience with other merlots made with grapes from that region. Here's the Mondavi winemaker's notes on the merlots, and you can select whichever vintage you have. http://www.rmprivateselection.com/winepage_07Merlot_TN.asp
- I don't think I'd try to cellar this wine, since I think it's meant to be drunk within a couple of years.
