Merlot 101

What is a good Merlot out there? I bought a Stephen Vincent 2003 at the store on a recommendation :/?

2. That is a very tough question as every one has different tastes so what i might think is great you may think is horrid. my suggestion is to go to a wine bar or a wine shop were there is sampling and try a few. always try before you buy....
3. The 2002 Merlot from Belhurst Winery. Belhurst is on the west side of Seneca Lake in Penn Yan, NY. The best Merlot I have ever had.
4. Bogle Merlot, any vintage.
5. Stag's leap Merlot is my favorite
