- Look for some that are on sale at your local groceery store.
- Look for Pepperwood. It is good and inexpersive. Good Pinot and Zinfedel also!
- Get them some Mad Dog 20/20.... That'll teach them....
- You should have Barefoot in Texas, right? It's consistently good and is usually very inexpensive (less than $10). If your looking for a bit of a step up ($10-20) look for something from the Sierra region in CA. My dad lives there and I'm always blown away by the local wines.
- B.V. Merlot. 2003 - 2006. Not the coastal stuff, the Napa Valley one. You can find it on sale for about 12 - 14 bucks.
- Blackstone merlot or Robert Mondavi private selection merlot.
- Yellow Tail is pretty good.
- If you are on a tight budget, go with Beringer or Covey Run.
- Try Trader Joes. They have such a large selection at really good prices and don't be afraid to ask for help. Costco also has a really decent selection. Try to find a 2004 or 5 the prices dropped on the red wines due to the over production recently. For under $10 you can get a great bottle.
