- I'm a big fan of the Markham merlots, even if they have gotten a bit commercial lately.
- try isola from spain
- two buck chuck-at trader joe's cheap and good
- Hahn has a great Merlot. It does not taste bitter to me.
- Kenwood Merlot, California, 2001 Geyser Peak Merlot, 2000 to 2002 Buy a magazine called the Wine Spectator... They rate different wines based on complexity, flavor and popularity. The people who rate these wines know much more that I do. Pick it up, then look up in the magazine for Merlots that score an 85 or higher.
