Merlot 101

Why do people treat wine as a marker of civilization, sophistication? It seems that wine is revered somehow and taken to be a mark of culture and sophistication when drank. Is it because of its history? Culture surrounding it? Surely not because of some intrinsic value; any two bits will buy you a bottle of Merlot these days. My wild theory is that wine can only be grown by those close to civilization, or those with enough riches and landspace to support what would be an only mildly valuable crop (grapes, natch) on its own. Hence, an aristocratic habit which is then admired by the bourgeoisie. Nowadays it seems that skill in identifying wines is a mark of sophistication, as well as being a wine grower. It seems to be relegated to an older and perhaps more "distinguished" demographic.

What are you eating & Watching? I am eating Sweet pea,potato and yummy beef stew and a glass of Merlot...Yum Yum.... And I am watching "Nostradamus:500 Years Later on the History Channel.I had it DVR'd from this past Friday........OMG AMAZING!!! If you are not watching....then what are you doing?? P.s. now I am watching Nightline with George Bush.....No comment! You guys watch Night line...I feel like punching Bush....he is getting on my nerves......he like makes me cringe when he laughs LOL...its like so funny MMM grits....I put Cheese in mine....YUM YUM I am answering too!! :) Bush is so spiritual and religous all of a sudden....Geez! Ladies, what things in a guy do you find most attractive? Now I know I just put a very generic and open ended question in the title, so I will elaborate further on it. When I say "What things in a guy do you find most attractive?", I'm excluding physical appearance, because that covers a variety of personal preferences. What I would like to know is what kind of behavior, what kind of personal interests, or mannerisms do you find attractive in a guy? For instance, I'm a guy who is well articulated, intelligent (especially in subject matter like history, literature, and trivial facts and figures), and very easy to get along with. I also have a love of ancient world art and red wine, particularly Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Lambrusco, and Chianti. I enjoy foreign foods (Mexican, Italian, Greek (to some degree), Chinese, Japanese, and Thai), and I enjoy conversation. I also enjoy being playful and I have a sarcastic/playful sense of humor. So a girl who likes all those things would probably like me. Thank you for the compliments ^_^, I'm flattered. However, this question is not about me as much as it is about what you ladies find attractive in a guy behavior and interest wise. I'm sure there are other qualities besides the ones I mentioned using me as a reference that you girls find attractive in a guy ;)
