What can i mix with White Merlot wine? I was wondering if you could make any kind of a special mix drink out of White Merlot Wine? It tastes good, but I just don't like the after taste. Thanks!
I just bought 2 bottles of Berringer White Merlot wine tonight, so some questions? I'm not an alcoholic. Aside from a couple of wine-coolers back in the mid-90s, I've pretty much stayed away from booze. And even though my wife is now calling me her 'boozer husband' (because this was my first purchase), I would like to get people's honest feedback on this moment. I heard that drinking red wine has a lot of benefits, and since I wanted to test out this theory, I was wondering just how much I should inbibe on any given day which wouldn't get me pasted? Secondly is that I am on blood-thinning medication, and so is taking a tablespoon amount of wine every couple of days going to affect my INR levels much? I'm going to cut back from a full tablespoon to half. This stuff is stronger than I thought it was! lol
Any wines that aren't white wine or dry wines? I want to know what other wines I could drink that are pretty good.White Zinfadel is alright, but i prefer that with italian food.White merlot and Rose wine is what I drink when i chill with friends. Any other kinds that you can suggest?

White wine for a red wine lover? I'm typically a red wine drinker (sangiovese and merlot in particular). I have yet to develop a taste for white wine, but I wanted to start trying some out. Any white wine suggestions for a red wine lover?
I have 2 boxes of wine one white and the other red merlot, how long will they last once opened? I have had these for over 2 months, I tried a sip of the red one, seemed okay to me. The brand name is Franzia. I also tried the white wine which is now refrigerated and that taste okay as well. Question is: Will it be okay to serve to guests? I am having lots of other beverages, but I was going to put the wine out to finally use it up but not sure if I should. The date on the box is Jan/2010 but I';m sure that is meant for a closed box.
How long can you keep a bottle of white wine in the fridge? After I've opened the bottle, how long will last in the fridge? Also, do you only drink red wine at room temperature? Can anyone suggest a good, but inexpensive white wine? I like zinfandel and chardonnay...Also a red wine that is not too dry or bitter, something a little on the sweet side? I kinda like merlot...but I'd like to try something else as well..One more thing..is it me, or does wine make you super tired by the second glass?
Is merlot wine any good? I like white merlot but i wonder how the merlot tastes anyone care to give me an explanation? What other wines are good to drink and get drunk to with your buddies.Cause I like to sit and sip away all night.
Is a Chateau Ste Michelle 1998 wine good with chicken? Quick! I'm trying to prepare a nice dinner for my boyfriend tonight & I've got a bottle of Chateau Ste Michelle 1998 Columbia Valley Merlot wine on hand. Do you chill a white merlot? I wanted to serve a white merlot with dinner tonight. I am new to drinking wines and still don't know a lot about it. Should I chill this white merlot, and will it mix well with a light chicken pasta?
What's a good website that gives me the differences between the types of wine? I'm a very big fan of wine and I've try to get my hands on as many types as I can.. I'm still trying to find my favorites: I love white wine: riesling is so good as a dessert wine.. but too much makes me sick. Chardannay is really tasty. I'm trying to love red wine: Merlot is as far as I go. Any suggestions on websites? Or personal favorites?
White or regular Merlot? Some people say they hate merlot wine. Do you think it was because the saw the movie "Sideways"? I did notice the changes in some people who were a fan of that crappy flick.

What is the best type of wine to serve at a wedding? Unfortunately, I don't know a whole lot about wine except that I really like a white chardonnay. We are getting married this summer and I need to purchase white wine, red wine, and a blush wine. Does anyone know what is most popular (i.e., chardonnay vs. pinot grigio, and for red wine is it usually a merlot)? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.
Good wine for intimate occasion? I like red wine, particularly Merlot+Cabernet, sometimes Bordeux. But my gf doesn't fancy red. She prefers white. We've tried Wolf Blass Chardonnay, and she likes it! I know nothing about white wine. Please advise. Something similar with Wolf Blass would do.
What kind of red wine to use in cooking? I routinely cook with white wine, but rarely use red wine in cooking (except in making beef burgundy). If a recipe for a beef stew or beef roast calls for the addition of red wine, what kind of wine do you use? A merlot? A cabernet? Or is there something else? Will any inexpensive domestic red wine work?

Which kind of wine is good for the stomach? I have a lot of digestion problems. I've heard a little wine every day can help. Does it matter if it's white or red wine? Beyond that are there any specific types of white or red wine? I love merlot so it would be my choice if it helps. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Does anyone have any good wine recommendations? I am not an avid wine drinker because I find most wine to be too dry or bitter. Does anyone have any good wine recommendations? I'm looking for a wine (either red or white) that is fresh, light, sweet or fruity. I don't like wines like merlot. Any suggestions? Thanks for your recommendations! I prefer bottles under $20, if possible but I'm not sure if I can get a good bottle for that price.
Red wine and White wine.....? I'm no wine connoisseur but my wedding is coming up and we've decided to provide two bottles of wine per table a chardonnay and a merlot, its my novice understanding that the chardonnay should be served chilled but I wasn't quite as sure of the merlot, I've heard that red wine should be served at room temperature and corked so that it can breathe etc. etc. if anyone can help me with this I would be ever so grateful....

Have you ever tasted the alcohol free wine? I don't drink alcohol anymore.. but I still love the taste.. and I recently found out that one of the local grocery stores stocks alcohol free wine. (kinda like the non-alcoholic beer) It's not QUITE as good as the real thing.. but it is yummy... The brand the have is Fre. I chose the premium red... they had merlot, white zinfandel and a whole bunch of other selections... but the red sounded great w/ my dinner... Whats your favorite? to answer the ? it is "less than 0.5% alcohol" to give a comparison.. Nyquil has 12% alcohol.. so yeah.. quite insignificant amount.. and why no cooking with alcohol? you cook out the alcohol and keep the flavor
Can anyone recommend a wine? Nothing expensive, please. I like White Zinfindel and Merlot. I tried a white wine the other day. I think it was called Pino Grecio. It was terrible. I want something smooth.
Tailgate party - what kind of beer.? I am having a tailgate party for my husband's company. I said I would have an assortment of beers. Also, I thought I would have one red and one white wine (merlot and chardonnay) Thanks it will be husband and their wives
Wine served in a wedding? My brother is getting married end of June, we had this talk of what kind of wine he should serve. He doesn't want to spend a fortune since he has 300 guest. I suggested "2 buck chuck" aka charles shaw. He said that might be tacky. What kind of wine would you serve for under $10? What kind of red wine is good? I like cabernet savignon or pinot noir, but he think merlot is more to other people flavor. What about white wine?

What type of wine? I'm very sorry, but im very ignorant when it comes to wines. For Valentine's day, I'm making a seafood dish including crab legs an shrimp. I know that white wine usually goes with seafood, but i'm lost beyond this point. What type of white wine should I get? I really don't like bitter tasting wine (ie. the only type of wine i've had is merlot and I hated it). Any ideas? Also, if it could be a wine that I could easily find in a grocery store that would be great! Thanks!

Help with wine selection? I have been experiencing with some different wines and have really become fond of white wines however i have found for the most part they don't seem to go well with red meat and pasta. I have tryed merlot in the past and hated it my question are all red wines like that or does anyone have suggestions for a "better" red wine to go with pasta and red meat.
How long does a bottle of wine last after it has been opened? I recently bought a bottle of merlot and between my husband and I we only drank half the bottle. I just re-corked it and set it on the counter in the kitchen. We don't drink very often, just on occasion. I would like to know how long a bottle of wine will last after being opened. For your reference, I keep red wine at room temperature and whites and blushes in the fridge. Please give me answers pertaining to each type. Thanks!

Wine at the Reception? I believe I am going to pick 1 white wine and 1 red wine for my wedding reception on Saturday. Does anyone have any suggestions on what type of wines to get? I mean if you were to pick one kind of white wine and one kind of red wine, what would satisfy the most people? Chardonnay and Merlot, Pinot Grigio and a Cabernet, etc.... Thanks!
Is this wine still good? I was clearing out my closet and found a few bottles of wine that I probably have for a couple of years. I was wondering if they would be good to drink. this is what I have: Beringer, White Merlot 2001 (California) Black Oak, Fume Blank Vintage 2003 (California) Barossa Peter Lehmann GSM 2003 (Australia) I think the last one was around $50 when I bought it 3 years ago. They were in box in my closet all the time, which is dark and cool. If anyone knows more about wine and if those would still be good to open and drink, please let me know. Thanks
red wine suggestions? I'm not a very big wine drinker. White wine like riesling or a moscato is pretty good in my opinion. I've been told red wine is great. I have tasted sangeria which I enjoyed and I've also tasted a shiraz. I've yet to try a merlot or Cabernet that I haven't found bitter or just not to my liking. I'd luv to red red wine another shot. Does anyone have any suggestions for a person such as myself who is new to red wine and seeking a more light fruitty flavor?
How can I learn the basics of wine, quickly and efficiently? I've been a bartender for several years, but never in a high-volume wine environment. I've moved to a new location (Grand Rapids, MI) and - even though I'm an experienced bartender - I'm finding myself at a disadvantage finding a job tending bar because I know little beyond the basics (chardonnay is white, merlot is red, etc.). Can you recommend a book or website that will get me up to speed on the current, popular wines and the differences between them - and quickly? I'm looking for essential general information and food-pairing tips - necessary information for a wine-rich restaurant. I'm also looking to do this without spending a ton of $$$, so preferably popular books I can find at the library or on half.com for a reasonable price. Also, I've attended many wine tastings, but I don't have a palate advanced enough to identify individual flavors and aromas; I just know what I like. I've also read 'Wine for Dummies,' but am looking for something just a big more advanced than that.
What is trendy in wine? I have a group of people coming over who I only know somewhat. They meet up everyweek and I have been toa few of their houses and they always serve wine (one white, one red). They are pretty trendy people and some of them are very into wine and I don't know a merlot from grape juice. What kind of white and what kind of red are popular right now? I don't mean brand, I mean like merlot or chardonnay or cabernet sauvignon etc.? I have no clue what they like and since I don't like wine at all I'm just going to try to go with whatever is "in" right now and hope to make a good impression.
